Hillary Clinton says the US is sending the wrong message after a Somali referee set to make history was reportedly denied entry into the country. Reacting to reports that the official could miss World Cup duties, Clinton called the move “terribly backward” and “counterproductive,” arguing global sports should strengthen international ties and cooperation, not create new barriers.
As a World Cup host, the U.S. shouldn't be flippantly barring officials from entering the country to do their jobs.

It's also counterproductive.
