EFL player Nsiala quits football for family reasons…

Toto Nsiala has left Shrewsbury Town for family reasons, taking a break from football only 10 weeks into the new season.

Shrewsbury Town defender Toto Nsiala has left the League Two club for family reasons, the team confirmed on Wednesday. The 33-year-old, who rejoined the Shrews last summer for a second spell, will take some time away from football.

In a statement, the club said: “Shrewsbury Town can confirm that, for family reasons, Toto Nsiala has chosen to leave the club and take some time away from the game. Toto departs Shrewsbury with the best wishes of everyone at the club.”

Nsiala, who has made 108 appearances and scored six goals across his two stints, expressed gratitude, saying: “To be part of a team that finished third in League One and reached two finals at Wembley was an honour.”

A former DR Congo international and Everton academy graduate, Nsiala featured five times this season. Shrewsbury, currently 22nd in League Two, will face Crawley next.
