Jurgen Klopp has accepted a new role with the German Football League while maintaining his position at Red Bull Group.
Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been appointed to an expert panel with the German Football League (DFL) while continuing his current duties as global head of soccer at the Red Bull Group.
Klopp, who left Liverpool in 2024 after nine successful years, will work with other football figures including Sami Khedira and Markus Krosche to improve Germany’s football structure. The DFL said the panel will focus on “the training and integration of talented players as well as the further development of club standards and structures.”
DFL managing director Marc Lenz added: “We are convinced that the financial, legal, and sporting frameworks must be right to keep the Bundesliga and German football consistently competitive.”
Although Klopp previously ruled out returning to management, he told The Athletic: “I don’t want to work as a coach anymore… I don’t miss anything.”
Results from the group’s work will be presented in 2026.
