Jean-Philippe Mateta scored a hat-trick but missed a late chance to seal victory as Crystal Palace drew 3-3 with Bournemouth.
The French striker levelled from the spot in stoppage time after Bafode Diakite fouled Marc Guehi, ensuring Palace extended their unbeaten home run to 10 matches. Moments later, Mateta blazed over from close range after being set up by Eddie Nketiah.
Ryan Christie had earlier looked to have won it for Bournemouth with an 89th-minute goal, but Mateta’s late penalty denied the visitors.
Mateta, who made his France debut last week, also scored twice in the second half to cancel out Junior Kroupi’s first-half brace. The 19-year-old forward, signed from Lorient, had put Bournemouth 2-0 up before Mateta hit back.
The result leaves both sides unbeaten in their recent league outings after an end-to-end contest that saw Palace’s fightback match Bournemouth’s attacking flair.
