Trossard strike keeps Arsenal top after tight Fulham win

Trossard’s strike secured Arsenal’s narrow win over Fulham to keep them top of the Premier League.

Arsenal maintained their Premier League lead with a 1-0 win over Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday, thanks to Leandro Trossard’s second-half strike.

Fulham began brightly, forcing Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya into early saves through Harry Wilson and teenage forward Josh King. The visitors grew into the game but saw Riccardo Calafiori’s first-half effort ruled offside. With captain Martin Odegaard absent, new signing Eberechi Eze featured in midfield but Arsenal’s control remained intact.

The breakthrough came in the 58th minute when Gabriel flicked on Bukayo Saka’s corner and Trossard finished from close range. A penalty appeal for Saka was overturned by VAR soon after.

Mikel Arteta’s men have now won five consecutive league games and remain unbeaten in eight across all competitions. The result also marked Arsenal’s first league win at Craven Cottage in three visits.
