Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali has signed a new long-term contract, extending his commitment to the club until the summer of 2029, with an option for a further 12 months.
The new deal was agreed “in secret during his ban for illegal betting, to protect Newcastle financially,” following the 10-month suspension that prevented the club from utilizing the high-profile Italian international. The agreement replaces his previous contract, which was due to expire in 2028.
The extension is a clear sign of mutual faith and protects the substantial investment made in the 25-year-old. Tonali has made a seamless return to the pitch, featuring prominently by starting all eight of Newcastle’s Premier League games this season.
The contract solidifies his long-term status as a central pillar in the Magpies’ ambitious project.
