FC Barcelona’s renowned La Masia academy continues its tradition of producing generational talent, with 15-year-old Ebrima Tunkara Yataberreh now generating significant buzz among scouts and fans.
The young midfielder, who holds dual Spanish and Gambian citizenship, is already being tipped as a future first-team star and is regarded by one talent scout as having “World-class potential.”
Tunkara, born in 2010, is an advanced playmaker known for his superb combination of physical presence and refined technical ability.
Despite his young age, he boasts an “amazing balance of physicality, energy, and playmaking skills,” alongside excellent ball control, dribbling, and pace.
A versatile, left-footed player, Tunkara operates best as an attacking midfielder but can also feature on the wing. His capacity to thrive against older opponents is already evident; he currently plays for the Barcelona U19 team and has represented the Spain U17 national side.
Comparisons to other La Masia success stories are inevitable, and the club is reportedly managing his development carefully.
Albert Puig, who first recruited the talent in 2018, offered a glowing assessment of the prodigy: “Ebrima is different from Lamine, but having him on the field makes things much easier for the rest.
He guaranteed improvement in every aspect and always showed up in the big matches. With him in the squad, across 60 matches in the under-10s and under-12s, we did not lose once.”
With his contract running until mid-2026, Tunkara is widely regarded as one of the most exciting youngsters in the academy’s pipeline.
