Match report: Bayern cruise to 4-0 victory over Club Brugge

Bayern Munich overwhelmed Club Brugge with a commanding 4-0 win to underline their credentials as early favourites in the Champions League.

In the Allianz Arena on Matchday 3 of the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League group phase, FC Bayern Munich delivered a performance of ruthless efficiency as they defeated Club Brugge 4-0. From the first whistle, they asserted control, dominated possession, and left no doubt about the game’s direction.

The breakthrough arrived early when youngster Lennart Karl lit up proceedings with a goal in the fifth minute, setting a record as Germany’s youngest Champions League scorer. In the 14th minute, Harry Kane converted after a fine build-up by Konrad Laimer, doubling the lead. Then, just before half-time, Luis Díaz delivered a spectacular strike to make it 3-0.

In the second half, the momentum remained firmly with Bayern, and although the pace settled a little, the hosts still looked in complete control. In the 78th minute, substitute Nicolas Jackson slid home the fourth, rounding off a night when “everything worked for the Rekordmeister.”

Coach Vincent Kompany praised the side’s intensity, focus, and execution, noting that the performance “leaves little room for opportunities” for the opponent. Meanwhile, Club Brugge offered very little threat throughout as Bayern’s defensive organisation shut down any hope of a response.
