Keane calls Forest players ‘idiots,’ blames them for Postecoglou sacking

Roy Keane has blasted Nottingham Forest players as “idiots,” blaming them for the sacking of Ange Postecoglou after just 39 days in charge, while Gary Neville criticised owner Evangelos Marinakis for his handling of managers.

According to Goal.com, former Nottingham Forest midfielder Roy Keane tore into the club’s current squad following the dismissal of Ange Postecoglou, who was sacked after eight winless games. Keane said the players should take full responsibility for their poor performances.

“You look at the Forest players and the chances they had. What chance has he (Postecoglou) got? Did they really want to score? Did they want to keep them in the job? I’m on about good players not even hitting the target. Then the manager loses his job… Idiots, honestly,” Keane fumed.

Forest have now gone through three managers this season — Nuno Espirito Santo, Postecoglou, and newly appointed Sean Dyche — under the ownership of Evangelos Marinakis.

Gary Neville also weighed in, criticising the club’s handling of sackings. “To do it 15, 20 minutes after a game… honestly, as a football club owner, it’s one of the worst things you can do,” he said.

Dyche, a former Forest youth player, now faces the daunting task of restoring order to a demoralised squad and navigating a congested schedule that includes both domestic and European fixtures.
