Guardiola names Arsenal, Liverpool as title favourites

Pep Guardiola believes Arsenal and Liverpool will remain strong contenders for the Premier League title, insisting they will “lose few, few points.”

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has named Arsenal and Liverpool as his main rivals for this season’s Premier League title.

Arsenal currently lead the table by three points ahead of City, while reigning champions Liverpool sit third after a dip in form. Guardiola, however, believes both teams will remain consistent throughout the campaign.

“In the Premier League, I have the feeling now that Arsenal is not going to drop much points,” he said. “I have that feeling with Arsenal, with Liverpool as well. Now Liverpool lost their last games, not in the Champions League in Frankfurt. But I saw the game against United, they had incredible chances to win the game.”

He added: “I always had the feeling that both teams and maybe another one, they will lose few, few points. That’s why we have to be there.”

Guardiola also explained why star striker Erling Haaland continues to play regularly. “I’m so sorry for my colleague Solbakken, but I’m not thinking about that,” he said. “Maybe at the end, if we win the Premier League by ten points, he will rest. But now he feels fit, he feels fine.”
