Vinicius Jr reportedly set to leave Real Madrid after fiery El Clasico outburst

Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr has announced his intention to leave the club following a heated exchange with coach Xabi Alonso during Sunday’s 2–1 El Clasico win over Barcelona.

The Brazilian reacted angrily after being substituted in the 72nd minute, questioning Alonso as he walked off the pitch. “Come on Vini, damn it,” the manager replied. Moments later, Vinicius was quoted by DAZN as saying, “I’m leaving the team, it’s better if I leave.”

Reports suggest tension between both men has simmered since August, when Alonso began favouring Rodrygo over Vinicius. Sources claim the winger is delaying contract renewal talks, eyeing a potential move to Manchester City or Saudi Arabia.

Despite a €1 billion release clause, Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez is reportedly open to selling the player rather than risk losing him for free. Vinicius, valued at €150 million, could be on his way out before the 2026 season.
