Woman charged in crash that cost ex-Bournemouth star Chiedozie his leg

A woman has been charged with drink and dangerous driving after a motorway crash that led to former Bournemouth footballer Jordan Chiedozie losing his leg, with the accused set to appear in court this December.

A woman has been charged in connection with a horrific motorway crash that resulted in former Bournemouth footballer Jordan Chiedozie having his leg amputated.

Anna Bogusiewicz, 45, is facing charges of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and drink driving following the incident on the M27 on February 1. Bogusiewicz is scheduled to appear at Southampton Crown Court on December 1.

The collision occurred while Chiedozie was on the hard shoulder attending to a flat tyre. The former Southend United player suffered “multiple broken bones and other physical injuries,” was placed in an induced coma, and subsequently underwent the amputation.

Reflecting on his long recovery, Chiedozie told the BBC, “I think you just have to [stay positive], you just have to get on with it.” He described the process of learning to walk with a prosthetic leg as “frustrating” and “strange,” adding, “You don’t think you’d have to learn stuff again – it’s not easy but it’s something I have to do.”
