Martin Odegaard gives positive Arsenal injury update

Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard has offered a positive update on his recovery from a knee ligament injury, revealing his rehabilitation is progressing well as he targets a return to action.

Arsenal captain Martin Ødegaard has provided a positive update on his rehabilitation from a medial collateral ligament (MCL) injury in his left knee, which has kept him sidelined since early October.

As reported by The Mirror, the 26-year-old playmaker has been using an anti-gravity machine to aid his recovery and is targeting a return after the forthcoming international break.

Speaking in his Arsenal programme notes, Ødegaard gave insight into his progress: “I would love to be involved, but I’m still working on my recovery. It’s going well and I’m progressing a lot.”

The injury, sustained against West Ham United, was initially noted by manager Mikel Arteta as a setback that would keep the midfielder out for “weeks.”

Ødegaard is now tentatively looking towards a return for the North London Derby against Tottenham on November 23rd.

The Norwegian acknowledged the challenges of his specific injury, stating, “It’s tricky to set a return date with this type of injury because… a lot depends on how it goes when I start getting back on the pitch.”

He explained that activities like passing and shooting with the left leg can be particularly challenging.

However, the captain remains motivated by the improvements seen: “I’ve started moving around more and I’ve been running on the anti-gravity machine this week.

It’s good to feel that it’s going in the right direction and that I can do more and more each day when I come into Sobha.” His ultimate benchmark for success remains his return to full pitch training.
