Munich set for 2028 Champions League final as Wembley, Camp Nou vie for 2029 final

Munich’s Allianz Arena is poised to host the 2028 UEFA Champions League final, with no other bidders coming forward for that year. For the 2029 final, a high-profile contest is set between London’s Wembley Stadium and Barcelona’s Camp Nou.

European football’s governing body, UEFA, confirmed the list of interested bidders for the 2028 and 2029 club finals, which includes 16 declarations for various events. The agency stated, “The declarations of interest are not binding, and the final proposals must be delivered with the bid dossiers by June 10.”

This announcement ends speculation about the final being staged in the United States. Wembley, which last hosted the final in 2024, will compete against Camp Nou, which hasn’t held the event since 1999. The Allianz Arena, which hosted Paris Saint-Germain’s first Champions League victory last season, is now the uncontested choice for 2028.

The official host cities will be appointed by UEFA in September 2026.
