Former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is reportedly among the candidates being considered by Wolverhampton Wanderers following the dismissal of Vitor Pereira. The Premier League’s bottom-placed club parted ways with Pereira on Sunday, just weeks after he signed a new three-year deal.
Wolves’ 3-0 defeat to Fulham proved the final straw for the Portuguese coach, who was appointed last December to replace Gary O’Neil. O’Neil is now in talks over a possible return, while Ten Hag, sacked by Bayer Leverkusen in September after three matches, is being discussed as a surprise option.
Ten Hag previously spent two and a half years at Manchester United, winning the League Cup in 2022 and FA Cup in 2023 before being dismissed last October. Wolves executive chairman Jeff Shi said: “Unfortunately, the start to this season has been a disappointment… we must make a change.”
Under-21 coach James Collins and under-18 boss Richard Walker will lead the team against Chelsea.
