“I don’t see Wolves getting out of this sort of funk any time soon.”
Former EFL winger Adrian Clarke has advised Middlesbrough manager Rob Edwards not to consider taking the vacant Wolves job, according to Inside Futbol reporting.
Wolves are currently bottom of the Premier League and searching for a new manager following the sacking of Vitor Pereira after their defeat to Fulham on Saturday. Despite being linked with Edwards, Middlesbrough have not received any official contact from the Premier League side.
Clarke believes the 42-year-old should remain at Boro, who sit second in the Championship table and are pushing for promotion. “Rob Edwards, don’t do it. Stay put,” Clarke said on What The EFL (21:21). “I don’t know if Boro are going up, but Boro are a good club to manage I think. I don’t see Wolves getting out of this sort of funk any time soon.”
Edwards, who has managed clubs including Luton Town and Watford, joined Middlesbrough in 2025 and has impressed in his short stint. Wolves, meanwhile, face a tough battle to avoid relegation and are expected to appoint a new boss before the January transfer window.
