According to ESPN reporting, Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique has expressed confidence that his team can end Bayern Munich’s “incredible” 15-game winning streak when the two sides meet in a crucial Champions League showdown on Tuesday.
The German champions travel to face the last team to beat them in a competitive match, with PSG having secured a 2-0 victory in a Club World Cup quarterfinal in July. Luis Enrique acknowledged the scale of the challenge, stating, “If we talk about the results and their run in the last 15 games, it is incredible… But as for the game tomorrow, it’s at the Parc des Princes… and we are confident that we can improve our performance level to try to overcome their pressure.”
The match is a top-of-the-table clash, with the holders PSG and Bayern, who beat them in the 2020 final, level on points. The French side leads the group only on goals scored, though Bayern has won the last four Champions League meetings between the clubs without conceding.
The threat of England captain Harry Kane, who has 24 goals for club and country this season, looms large for Bayern. PSG midfielder Vitinha praised Kane as “incredible” with figures that are “out of this world,” but emphasized that Bayern is a strong team overall. Conversely, Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer highlighted the danger PSG poses, noting, “Their counter-attacking play is dangerous, as are their shots from distance.”
