Al-Nassr superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed that his private aircraft, a Global Express jet, is the most expensive item he has ever bought, according to reports stemming from his recent interview with Piers Morgan.
The Portuguese icon also reflected on his status as the world’s only billionaire footballer, confirming it was a deliberate career goal.
When asked what his costliest purchase was, Ronaldo responded plainly: “The most expensive thing? Plane. Global Express. I’ve had a plane since, it’s 13 years old, but I changed one year ago, so it’s a little bit expensive.”
Ronaldo explained that while his youthful obsession with flashy cars and spending has faded, the private jet remains an essential expense because he is “not a normal person” and cannot risk travelling through airports for security reasons.
Addressing his immense wealth, the 39-year-old dismissed the suggestion that he had only recently achieved billionaire status. “Not true,” he stated. “No, I became a billionaire many years ago!”
He elaborated on the importance of the financial milestone to his career ambitions: “Becoming a billionaire was one of the MAIN GOALS I had. I am the ONLY billionaire in football. Numbers don’t lie. Call it arrogance, but numbers don’t lie.
It doesn’t surprise me that I am the only billionaire in football. When you look at all the records, Cristiano Ronaldo is always at the top of the list.” The Bloomberg Billionaires Index recently valued his net worth at around $1.4 billion.
