Super sub Alejandro Garnacho fired Enzo Maresca’s side level.
Chelsea were forced to share the spoils in Azerbaijan after a 2–2 draw with Qarabag in their Champions League clash, according to Sports Illustrated reporting.
The Blues took an early lead when Estevao struck in the 17th minute after being set up by Andrey Santos. However, the hosts responded through Leandro Andrade, who equalized on 29 minutes after following up a rebound off the post. Moments later, Marko Jankovic converted a penalty to give Qarabag a 2–1 lead after Jorrel Hato was penalised for handball.
Enzo Maresca made a triple change at half-time, introducing Enzo Fernandez, Liam Delap, and Alejandro Garnacho. The latter made an instant impact, driving into the box to fire a low left-footed shot past Mateusz Kochalski for Chelsea’s second equaliser.
Despite Garnacho’s near miss from a Marc Cucurella header and improved attacking play, Chelsea could not find a winner. The Blues also suffered a setback early in the game, with Romeo Lavia forced off due to injury after just six minutes.
Chelsea return to London ahead of their Premier League fixture against Wolves on Saturday.
