Guehi was a notable absentee from the squad for the crucial M23 derby against Brighton & Hove Albion, with teenager Jaydee Canvot taking his place in the starting XI.
Speaking to Sky Sports ahead of the match, Glasner detailed the severity of the injury, which the 25-year-old picked up during the Eagles’ recent match against AZ Alkmaar.
Glasner confirmed the diagnosis and the immediate impact, stating: “He got a knock on his foot [against AZ Alkmaar], it’s a bone bruise. He can’t even walk at the moment, so the last two days he was on crutches, and that’s why he couldn’t play.”
The injury immediately casts significant doubt over Guehi’s availability for the upcoming November international break.
Guehi had been selected by England manager Thomas Tuchel for the Three Lions’ matches against Serbia and Albania.
Glasner admitted the situation was highly uncertain regarding his national team duties: “I don’t know how this develops over the next couple of days,” the Palace boss admitted. “But at the moment, it looks like he can’t play for England as well.”
Guehi has become a key fixture for England under Tuchel, making him one of the German manager’s most-used centre-backs.
