Six key Super Eagles players, including Ndidi and Iwobi, have arrived in Rabat, Morocco, to kick off preparations for their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup playoff semi-final against Gabon.

According to team reports, Nigeria’s Super Eagles have officially opened their camp in Rabat, Morocco, signaling the start of preparations for the critical 2026 FIFA World Cup African playoff tournament.

Coach Eric Chelle has invited 24 players to the camp, which is based at the Rive Hotel in Rabat, ahead of the high-stakes semi-final match. The first group of players arrived with team officials to commence immediate preparations.

This initial batch included six key figures: defenders Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi, midfielders Wilfred Ndidi, and forwards Samuel Chukwueze, Tolu Arokodare, and Olakunle Olusegun.

Bassey and Iwobi form the core of the defensive and midfield units, respectively, while the remaining players provide crucial depth across the midfield and attack.

The team’s immediate schedule involves intensive training sessions conducted at local facilities under the supervision of the full technical crew.

These sessions are specifically designed to focus on preparing the players both tactically and physically for the demanding playoff encounter.

Nigeria’s first playoff match is scheduled against the Panthers of Gabon on Thursday, November 13. Preparations will continue in Rabat over the next few days, with the full 24-man squad expected to complete all tactical drills and fitness routines.

The Super Eagles will remain in Morocco, with the camp expected to conclude once the semi-final match is completed, though there is potential for extension depending on the result of the encounter.
