Robert Lewandowski’s agent denies Barcelona retirement talk

Robert Lewandowski’s agent has dismissed reports that the 37-year-old striker is considering retirement, clarifying that his future at FC Barcelona remains undecided but his career continues.

Barcelona’s veteran striker, Robert Lewandowski, has no plans to retire from professional football, according to his agent, despite recent speculation linking his future at the Catalan club to an imminent end.

Lewandowski recently proved his enduring ability by scoring a hat-trick in Barcelona’s 4-2 victory over Celta Vigo at the Balaídos.

According to a report from Mundo Deportivo, the Polish veteran’s agent told Winwinallsports that the reports suggesting Lewandowski might consider retirement if he does not receive a renewal offer from Barcelona are untrue.

The agent, speaking on the matter, said: “The reports saying that Lewandowski is considering retirement are not true… He is a top-level striker, but there is still no news about the renewal of his contract or his future with Barcelona.”

At 37, Lewandowski is currently in the final year of his deal, prompting increased media focus on his longevity. However, despite dealing with physical problems, the forward has started the 2025-26 season strongly.

He is currently tied with Julian Alvarez at seven goals, putting him behind only Kylian Mbappé in the Pichichi standings.

If Lewandowski maintains this high level of performance, the prospect of securing another one-year extension at Barcelona may become more likely, even with him set to turn 38 next year.

His commitment to continuing at the highest level remains clear, according to the veteran’s representation.
