Eduardo Camavinga faces an injury scare, potentially sidelining him for France’s World Cup qualifier against Ukraine, raising concerns for both club and country.
Real Madrid and France are facing a fresh injury concern after midfielder Eduardo Camavinga emerged as a doubt for France’s World Cup qualifier against Ukraine on Thursday, according to a report from Sports Mole.
Camavinga, who played 79 minutes in Real Madrid’s goalless draw against Rayo Vallecano on Sunday, has reportedly missed two consecutive national team training sessions, with a journalist claiming the player is struggling with a hamstring issue.
This places his appearance in the home clash at the Parc des Princes in jeopardy, where France has the opportunity to secure their place at the 2026 World Cup.
Camavinga may now focus on proving his fitness for Sunday’s away meeting with Azerbaijan.
Real Madrid is monitoring the situation closely, particularly as they are already without fellow French teammate Aurelien Tchouameni, who missed the draw with Rayo Vallecano with a muscle problem and is expected to miss the game against Elche after the international break.
France manager Didier Deschamps addressed the midfielder’s ongoing fitness issues, stating: “Eduardo Camavinga has injuries that prevent him from having consistency.
He wants more game time, to improve. If he didn’t have these problems, he would definitely have more consistency with Real Madrid and with us.”
Camavinga will be hoping to shake off the issue quickly to feature in the crucial final matches of the qualifying campaign.
