England continued their flawless World Cup qualifying campaign with a 2-0 victory over Serbia at Wembley, according to a report from the EVENING STANDARD. Bukayo Saka and Eberechi Eze scored the goals as Thomas Tuchel’s team made it seven wins from seven in Group K without conceding a goal.
Saka opened the scoring in the first half with a superb cushioned volley that lifted his international tally to 14. The chance came after Serbia goalkeeper Predrag Rajkovic punched a free-kick to debutant Nico O’Reilly, whose blocked effort looped into the air for Saka to finish expertly.
Tuchel rotated his squad on the night, starting Morgan Rogers in the No.10 role ahead of Jude Bellingham, who later came on for his first appearance since June. Phil Foden also returned, operating in a false nine after coming on for captain Harry Kane.
Serbia, led by new manager Veljko Paunovic, created few chances, with Dusan Vlahovic twice going close in the second half. England, however, remained in control and doubled their lead late in the match. Bellingham won possession, Foden combined with him in the buildup, and substitute Eze applied a brilliant finish to seal the win.
The result ends Serbia’s play-off hopes, while England travel to Tirana next to face Albania in their final match of 2025.
