Barcelona is carefully considering whether to make Marcus Rashford’s loan from Manchester United permanent, while the Red Devils have set their asking price for the forward.
Barcelona remains cautious about making Marcus Rashford’s loan move permanent for the option price of €35 million, while Manchester United has set an alternative asking price of around €40 million if the forward is sold to another club.
Barcelona is reportedly still approaching with caution regarding making Marcus Rashford’s transfer from Manchester United permanent, according to a report from Fichajes.
The England international is currently on loan at the Nou Camp for the season and is seemingly getting his career back on track after a difficult spell at Old Trafford.
However, club chiefs at Barcelona are not looking set to rush into a move to sign the 28-year-old permanently, planning to evaluate the situation carefully before coming to a final decision later.
The report also provides insight into Manchester United’s planning for the forward’s future. While Barcelona possesses the option to sign Rashford permanently for €35m, United would reportedly set an asking price of around €40m for him if he does not join the Catalan giants permanently and the club has to find another buyer instead.
The situation suggests that regardless of the outcome with Barcelona, Rashford’s return to Manchester United seems unlikely.
This is attributed to the arrival of an entire new front three—Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha, and Benjamin Sesko—who were brought in this summer by MUFC boss Ruben Amorim, making it difficult to see how Rashford would fit into the team with increased competition.
Rashford had spent his entire career at United up until this year, and it is clear he is relishing the change of scene.
