Barcelona forward Ferran Torres has solidified his standing among Spain’s elite by scoring his 23rd senior international goal against Georgia, a milestone that puts him level with national legends Alfredo Di Stéfano and Sergio Ramos on the all-time scoring list.
According to a report from Barca Universal, Barcelona forward Ferran Torres has charged into Spain’s history books, registering his 23rd senior international strike to join footballing icons in the nation’s top ten highest goalscorers of all time.
Torres, who is 25 years old, was decisive for La Roja in their confident 4-0 win over Georgia during their penultimate FIFA World Cup qualifying match.
His goal was the product of smart movement inside the box, arriving in the perfect position to finish a measured cross from Mikel Oyarzabal.
This latest achievement places the Barcelona attacker level with two legendary names: Alfredo Di Stéfano and Sergio Ramos.
Reflecting on the milestone, Torres shared a moment of pride, stating: “Obviously, I knew it, it’s a dream to be among the top 10 goalscorers and equal legends like Di Stefano and Ramos.”
He quickly added his intention to continue climbing the ranks: “You should never stop being ambitious, so let’s go for more goals and climb up that list.”
Torres’ efficiency for the national team is notable, with his 23 goals in just 51 official appearances giving him a goals-per-game ratio that ranks among the best Spain has seen in modern football.
Furthermore, his current total puts him just three goals behind another national legend, Emilio Butragueno, on the scoring charts.
This season alone, Torres has demonstrated his excellent form by finding the net nine times—seven for Barcelona and two for Spain.
