Harvey Elliott, currently on loan at Aston Villa, is attracting interest from Germany and Italy as his loan spell fails to impress, potentially leading to a permanent transfer from Anfield.
Liverpool face a growing battle to retain midfielder Harvey Elliott this summer, with reports indicating a strong transfer interest from both Italian and German top-flight clubs.
According to a report from Football Insider, the 22-year-old Englishman is “likely to move to Serie A” if he departs Anfield before the start of next season.
“Two of Italy’s biggest clubs are said to be showing interest in Elliott,” the report states, alongside confirmation that “unnamed clubs in the German Bundesliga are also credited with an interest.”
The news comes as Liverpool prepare for a busy transfer window. The Reds have already bolstered Arne Slot’s squad by adding Jeremie Frimpong, though the club also saw Trent Alexander-Arnold depart to join Spanish giants Real Madrid.
The Merseyside outfit has secured long-term futures for key players, with both Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk having signed contract extensions in recent months, which the source claims “will also boost Liverpool’s chances of lifting the top flight trophy once again next season.”
Elliott, who joined the Reds from Fulham in 2019, has made 147 appearances for the club across all competitions, registering 15 goals and 20 assists. He featured 18 times in the Premier League last season as Slot’s side lifted the title.
Despite having recently “refused a proposed move to Nottingham Forest last week,” there is now “growing belief that he will leave Anfield” this summer.
The midfielder has 22 caps and nine goals for the England Under-21s but is yet to receive a call-up to the senior side.
