Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami will officially open their new 25,000-seat Miami Freedom Park stadium on April 4, 2026, by hosting Austin FC as part of the Major League Soccer’s newly announced 2026 schedule.

Inter Miami, featuring global star Lionel Messi, is set to inaugurate its new home stadium, Miami Freedom Park, on April 4 against Austin FC, according to a report from Agence France-Presse (AFP).

The match will serve as the home season debut for the club in the new 25,000-seat venue, a central part of the 2026 Major League Soccer (MLS) schedule unveiled on Thursday, November 21, 2025.

The 510-match MLS regular season will officially kick off on February 21, with teams playing 34 matches each before the schedule concludes on November 7.

The opening day slate of 13 matches will include an exciting matchup featuring Miami visiting Son Heung-min’s Los Angeles FC at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

A key feature of the 2026 calendar is the mandated break for the FIFA World Cup, hosted by Mexico, Canada, and the United States.

MLS play will pause from May 25 to July 16, with the league scheduling its return just ahead of the World Cup final on July 19.

Charlotte is also slated to host the MLS All-Star Game on July 29. Following a November FIFA window, the MLS playoffs will begin.
