Hansi Flick pinpoints Barca’s current deficiency

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick, following his receipt of the Miguel Munoz Trophy, identified a current lack of confidence as the missing element from the team’s performance compared to their near-perfect triple-winning campaign last season.

According to a report from Barca Universal, Hansi Flick has offered an assessment of his team’s current form, noting what he believes Barcelona has lost following a season in which they secured the La Liga, Copa del Rey, and Supercopa titles.

The German tactician, who was recently awarded the Miguel Munoz Trophy by MARCA, stated that the recognition reflects not just the silverware but the team’s “clear transformation in their footballing identity” last season.

Flick highlighted that the 2024/25 campaign saw the team blend “discipline with creativity,” allowing them to regain a sense of identity.

However, when speaking about the current squad’s performance, he pointed to a defining factor that is missing.

He recalled the strong second half against Celta Vigo as a benchmark, adding: “Perhaps at the moment we lack the confidence that we normally should have and need.

But now some players are coming back, and that will help us a lot.”

Expressing belief in his squad, Flick maintained: “We have a fantastic team, and if we play at a high level like we did in Vigo, everything will be fine.”

The manager concluded by stating the team’s immediate focus is on the busy period ahead: “We now have nine games in four weeks before the break.

We are going to focus on these four weeks, in which we are going to fight to win every game.”
