Gunners to push for out-of-favour Madrid star

Arsenal is reportedly preparing a renewed push for Real Madrid forward Rodrygo, readying an offer of up to €60 million plus bonuses, as the Brazilian struggles for form under manager Xabi Alonso.

According to a report from Defensa Central, Arsenal is preparing to revive its pursuit of Real Madrid forward Rodrygo, whose long-term future at the Santiago Bernabéu has become increasingly uncertain.

The report suggests that the Premier League club is “readying an offer worth up to €60 million to test Madrid’s resolve” for the 24-year-old Brazilian.

Arsenal’s interest intensified after manager Mikel Arteta reportedly “approved another attempt to bring Rodrygo,” especially as the winger has “struggled to hit top form under Xabi Alonso this season.”

Compared to his “influential displays for the Brazil national team,” Rodrygo’s role “has diminished, and he no longer carries the same weight in Madrid’s attacking setup.”

Arsenal’s previous attempt to sign him in the summer collapsed because “the financial terms did not convince the player,” as Rodrygo was “said to have requested more than €10 million net in wages.”

To increase the appeal, Arsenal is reportedly preparing a €60 million base offer, and they are also “willing to include an additional €20 million in performance-related bonuses,” making the total package potentially worth €80 million.

While this signals serious intent, the total remains “well below the €100 million valuation placed on him last summer.”
