Matheus Cunha suffers injury at Manchester United training

Matheus Cunha reportedly suffered a training injury, sidelining him from an Altrincham event, while Manchester United faces a growing injury list with Sesko, Maguire, and potentially Mainoo ahead of their Everton clash.

Manchester United forward Matheus Cunha has reportedly suffered an “accident” while training with the club, placing his availability for the upcoming Premier League match against Everton in doubt.

The Brazilian international had recently returned from international duty to join manager Ruben Amorim and his teammates to prepare for the fixture, set for Monday evening at Old Trafford.

The news emerged not from the club, who are “yet to comment,” but through an announcement made by the organisers of a local event.

Cunha, who is 26-years-old, was scheduled to turn on the Christmas lights in Altrincham on Saturday evening.

However, the event organisers, VisitAltrincham, broke the news via Instagram, posting a 28-word statement that attributed his absence to an injury scare. The statement read:

“Unfortunately, Matheus Cunha has had an accident in training today and will not be able to attend tonight’s Christmas Lights Switch on in Altrincham due to medical reasons.”

This incident comes as the majority of the Manchester United squad returned to Carrington following the two-week international break.

The report also notes that several other key players, including Benjamin Sesko, Harry Maguire, and Kobbie Mainoo, are already nursing injuries ahead of the clash with Everton.
