Preview the Milan derby as Inter’s Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Martinez prepare to face a Milan attack led by Christian Pulisic and Rafael Leao, with probable line-ups revealed.
The first Milan derby played in the recently club-owned Stadio Meazza will feature Inter’s strike partnership of Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram against a Milan side that sees the return of Fikayo Tomori and Adrien Rabiot.
According to a report from Football Italia, the final preparations for the highly anticipated Serie A Milan derby are underway, with probable line-ups and injury updates revealed for the clash between Inter and AC Milan at the Stadio Meazza in San Siro this evening, kicking off at 20:45 CET (19:45 GMT).
The fixture carries added historical significance as it marks the first time the Milan derby will be played in a club-owned stadium, following the sides’ joint purchase of the Meazza and its surrounding areas earlier this month.
Inter, who are technically the home team for this encounter, will rely on their potent attacking duo of Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Martinez to lead the line.
However, they must contend with several key absences, including Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Raffaele Di Gennaro, Matteo Darmian, and Denzel Dumfries.
Carlos Augusto is expected to feature on the right flank, Francesco Acerbi will step into central defence, and Petar Sucic will replace Mkhitaryan in midfield.
Inter’s probable lineup is projected as a 3-5-2: Sommer; Akanji, Acerbi, Bastoni; Carlos Augusto, Barella, Calhanoglu, Sucic, Dimarco; Thuram, Lautaro Martinez.
AC Milan will counter with an attack led by Christian Pulisic and Rafael Leao. Their injury concerns are limited to only two unavailable players:
Zachary Athekame and Santiago Gimenez. The Rossoneri welcome back two significant figures to the starting XI, with Adrien Rabiot and Fikayo Tomori both returning.
Davide Bartesaghi is also expected to secure a starting spot as a left midfielder, pushing Pervis Estupinan to the bench.
Milan’s predicted 3-5-2 formation is: Maignan; Tomori, Gabbia, Pavlovic; Saelemaekers, Fofana, Modric, Rabiot, Bartesaghi; Pulisic, Leao.
For fans looking to watch the match, the broadcast will be available on TNT Sports 1 and DAZN in the UK and Ireland, and on Paramount+ in the USA.
