According to a report from Madrid Universal, Real Madrid President Florentino Pérez delivered an emotional tribute to club legends and highlighted the club’s future during the highly anticipated Ordinary General Meeting held on November 23, 2025.
The meeting, which approved the new season’s budget, was charged with emotion following a video tribute to iconic figures like Carlo Ancelotti, Luka Modrić, and Lucas Vázquez.
Pérez took the stage to individually honor the departing figures. He began with the coach, declaring, “I ask you to recognize all those who have completed their time with our club.
And I want to start with Carlo Ancelotti, the most decorated coach in our history, with 15 titles.
“He has earned our affection forever because he represents the values of Real Madrid. Thank you, Carlo. This will always be the club of your life.”
The president then addressed Luka Modrić, the player who leaves as the most decorated in club history. Pérez stated, “Also (the arena erupts in thunderous applause)… Modric. He belongs to the heart of Real Madrid. Because he has represented it.
“Respected by all. Rivals and fans alike. He is the most decorated player in our history, with 28 titles. Dear Luka, thank you for your football. An honor to see you play in this shirt.”
Homegrown talent Lucas Vázquez was also celebrated: “He leaves as a legend, with 23 titles. Lucas Vazquez gave everything for our badge.
Madrid fans will never forget his dedication or his walk to the penalty spot in the Undécima (eleventh European Cup), at San Siro.” Pérez also thanked Jesus Vallejo, an “example of professionalism,” who leaves with 13 titles.
Shifting to the club’s strategy for the future, Pérez emphasized that the key is “the mix of extraordinary players with great talent, all of them loving Real Madrid.”
He proudly mentioned new arrivals, including “Xabi Alonso, who embodies Real Madrid’s values. He’s won everything with this club and made history with Bayer Leverkusen.”
The current squad features stars like “Vinicius, The Best 2024; Kylian Mbappe, who won his first Golden Boot and already has 18 goals this season.”
He closed by honoring captain Dani Carvajal, who “has the honor of equaling Paco Gento’s record of six European Cups.”
