Manchester United’s player ratings vs Everton; Stinkers everywhere as star gets 3/10

Manchester United suffered a disappointing 1-0 home defeat against Everton, despite their opponents playing with 10 men for most of the match, as player performances left much to be desired.

Manchester United’s performance was disastrous, losing 1-0 to a 10-men Everton side due to a goal from Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, which resulted in the team receiving multiple low ratings, including a 3/10 for Patrick Dorgu.

Player Ratings and Performance Analysis:

Senne Lammens was rated 5/10. The goalkeeper’s starting position was cited as a weakness, making it difficult for him to save Dewsbury-Hall’s strike, which beat him from the edge of the box.

The backline saw Leny Yoro (5/10) and Matthijs de Ligt (5/10) struggle. Yoro failed to commit to the challenge for the goal, and de Ligt was caught out of position multiple times in the first half. Luke Shaw (5/10) made an excellent challenge and tried to rally his struggling teammates. Noussair Mazraoui (4/10) offered little going forward and was substituted at halftime.

In midfield, Casemiro (4/10) was passive and looked like a “33-year-old,” leading to his substitution in the 58th minute. Bruno Fernandes (4/10) showed sloppy passing and wasted a big chance from close range with 20 minutes remaining.

The attack was led by Joshua Zirkzee (4/10), making his first start, who contributed little until forcing a late save from Jordan Pickford. Bryan Mbeumo (5/10) showed determination, while Amad (5/10) was noted as probably the best attacker in the first half. Patrick Dorgu received the lowest score of 3/10, appearing low on confidence with poor end product, and is “likely to be replaced by Dalot at the weekend.”

Substitutes

Mason Mount (6/10) “Made a difference when he came on,” Diogo Dalot (5/10) was an improvement on Dorgu, and Kobbie Mainoo (5/10) “Tried his best.”
