Harry Kane calms Bayern fears amid Barça interest

Bayern Munich superstar Harry Kane addressed rumors linking him to Barcelona next summer, downplaying the likelihood of a transfer despite the Catalan club viewing his €65 million release clause as viable.

According to a report from Barca Universal, FC Barcelona is preparing to enter the market next summer for a top centre-forward, intending to replace Robert Lewandowski when his contract expires at the end of the season.

England captain Harry Kane has emerged as a target for the La Liga champions, with his €65 million release clause for next summer being viewed as viable.

Speaking to BILD (h/t SPORT) ahead of a Champions League match, Kane addressed the rumors and his current status in Munich.

“I haven’t been in contact with anyone, nor has anyone been in contact with me. I feel very comfortable in the current situation, and we haven’t discussed anything with Bayern about the future yet,” Kane stated.

He added, “There’s no rush. I’m happy at Bayern and that shows in the way I play. If there are any contacts, we’ll see. I’m not thinking about next season, to be honest. The first thing, after the end of the season, is the World Cup.”

Pressed on the possibility of leaving Bayern in the summer, the striker was firm: “It’s very unlikely that anything will change next season.”

When asked if Bayern fans should feel uneasy, he simply responded: “No, I do not think so.”

Barcelona has reportedly made enquiries about the situation but has not proceeded further, believing a move could be similar to the successful transfer of Lewandowski a few years ago.
