Largie Ramazani returns to Valencia training, signaling an end to his injury layoff and a potential comeback against Rayo Vallecano.
Leeds United loanee Largie Ramazani is set to end a frustrating spell at Valencia after returning to initial team training following a long-term muscle injury, according to a report from the Yorkshire Evening Post.
The winger, who scored seven goals and provided two assists in 31 appearances to help Daniel Farke’s side return to the Premier League, was quickly linked with a move away from Elland Road after one unused substitute appearance in the new top-flight campaign.
He subsequently completed a loan move to Valencia, where he registered an assist on his debut against Getafe and made four further appearances before suffering the setback.
Valencia head coach and former Leeds assistant manager Carlos Corberan provided an update on the player’s progress last week, confirming the severity of the injury. Corberan stated:
“The muscle injuries, those of Diakhaby and Ramazani, were long-term. The expected return date for both is similar.
They are still between ten days and two weeks from coming back, because when they return to full training will determine their return date. The recovery is going well, but the exact date is still unknown.”
However, a subsequent statement on the La Liga club’s website confirmed a major step forward, reporting:
“The novelty in today’s afternoon training has been Largie Ramazani, who has performed several of the initial exercises with the team.”
Following this return, the Belgian striker could now be in contention to face Rayo Vallecano on Monday, December 1.
