Liverpool head coach Arne Slot faces a selection headache, potentially having to name a depleted bench with four empty spots for the upcoming Champions League match against PSV Eindhoven.
According to a report from This Is Anfield, Liverpool may enter their Champions League match against PSV Eindhoven with only an eight-man bench — potentially leaving four spots vacant.
The shortage stems from a combination of injuries and rules governing European squad registration. Key absentees include first-team regulars Conor Bradley, Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz, while youngster Giovanni Leoni remains unavailable.
Under current regulations, only players registered on either List A or List B are eligible for Champions League matchday squads. Although full-backs Calvin Ramsay and James Norris trained with the group, they are too old to qualify for List B and thus cannot be included.
Meanwhile, potential youth additions — like 21-year-old Kaide Gordon — remain unregistered, leaving no reinforcements to fill the bench.
As a result, with only 20 outfield players eligible for the tie and no new additions from the academy system, Liverpool face a rare scarcity of usable substitutes.
For the head coach Arne Slot, that could limit tactical flexibility and place extra pressure on the starting XI during what is expected to be a demanding European fixture.
