Liverpool’s Hugo Ekitike is a doubt for the West Ham clash due to injury, but manager Arne Slot confirmed Alisson and Florian Wirtz are close to returning.
West Ham United manager David Moyes has confirmed that Hugo Ekitike is unlikely to be available for selection for the crucial Premier League match against Liverpool, according to a report from Metro.
Ekitike has been absent since early October due to an injury and has not yet made his full return to the matchday squad.
Although the striker has resumed training with the squad, Moyes stated that he is not ready to be named in the team for the weekend fixture.
Speaking ahead of the game, Moyes said: “Hugo Ekitike is the only one who is not quite ready. He’s training with the team, but he’s not ready for selection yet.”
The 22-year-old, who joined the Hammers in January, has endured a challenging start to his career at the London Stadium, with injury setbacks limiting his game time.
Ekitike, who previously spent time at Paris Saint-Germain, is still seeking his first Premier League goal for the club.
His continued absence means that Moyes will have to rely on other attacking options as West Ham look to bounce back from their heavy defeat to Fulham last time out.
The manager will be hoping to see his side return to the strong form that saw them secure a place in the top half of the Premier League table earlier in the season.
