Following FC Barcelona’s important 3-1 victory over Atlético Madrid at the Spotify Camp Nou, manager Hansi Flick praised the team’s “another level” performance and provided updates on Dani Olmo and Frenkie de Jong.
FC Barcelona manager Hansi Flick expressed immense satisfaction with his team after securing a 3-1 victory against Atlético Madrid, a result that puts the Blaugrana four points clear at the top of the La Liga table, according to a report from Barca Universal.
Goals from Raphinha, Dani Olmo, and Ferran Torres sealed the win after conceding an early strike from Alex Baena.
Speaking to the media after the match, Flick said: “I think our performance has been on another level, we fought together, and it’s been fantastic.” He called the victory “the step forward I was looking for.”
Flick provided an update on several key players. Regarding Pedri, who was substituted, the manager stated:
“Pedri is fine, a little tired.” He added high praise, saying Pedri is “an exceptional player” who “managed the connection between defence and attack very well.”
On the injury front, Flick noted: “Dani Olmo has a shoulder problem, we’ll see tomorrow.”
He also provided context on the pre-match absence of Frenkie de Jong, who missed the game due to fever and lack of sleep, saying:
“I hope to have him available against Betis.”
Flick also highlighted the importance of Brazilian winger Raphinha, who scored and provided dynamism, as well as the defensive stability offered by Joan Garcia and Gerard Martin at centre-back.
Despite missing a penalty, the manager concluded: “We could have scored the penalty too. But we didn’t give up. I’m proud of what I saw.”
