Chelsea player ratings: Estevao flops with a 4/10 rating as Cole Palmer makes return

Chelsea suffered a 3-1 loss to Leeds United at Elland Road, a result that saw them drop to fourth place in the Premier League, according to a report from Standard Sport.

Leeds took the lead early in the sixth minute through a “thunderous header” from Jaka Bijol following a corner. Ao Tanaka doubled the lead with a “superb hit” close to half-time.

Although substitute Pedro Neto instantly halved the deficit after the break, a decisive error from Tosin Adarabioyo gifted Leeds their third goal, allowing Dominic Calvert-Lewin to steal in and condemn Chelsea to a poor defeat.

Chelsea Player Ratings

Robert Sanchez (4): The goalkeeper made some decent stops but was criticized for potentially doing more to prevent Leeds’ initial goal. His distribution was also noted as being less secure than usual.

Trevoh Chalobah (5): While he and Liam Delap were beaten by Bijol for the opener, he managed to recover, delivering a respectable performance after starting at right-back and shifting to centre-back in the second half.

Tosin Adarabioyo (3): The defender had a poor night, failing to be “touch-tight” to the Leeds attackers consistently. His evening was defined by a “horrific mistake” that gifted Leeds their third goal.

Benoit Badiashile (3): The centre-back had a difficult half, summed up by a poor pass, which led to him being substituted at the break.

Marc Cucurella (5): He was one of Chelsea’s more effective players, being involved in Neto’s goal and moving forward into midfield positions throughout the match.

Enzo Fernandez (4): Not the Argentine’s best outing; he was notably dispossessed, which allowed Leeds to score their second goal.

Andrey Santos (5): He was rated as Chelsea’s top midfielder on the night but still struggled to effectively halt Leeds’ counter-attacks at their source.

Estevao Willian (4): The winger displayed some positive carries forward but showed “a little naivety” by committing a needless foul for a yellow card. He was substituted at half-time for the second consecutive game.

Joao Pedro (5): The forward made a few positive off-the-ball runs but occasionally rushed his chances and was generally considered too “anonymous.”

Jamie Gittens (6): He started poorly but improved drastically out wide, securing an “excellent” assist for Neto’s goal.

Liam Delap (5): He carried the ball forward when possible, but the physical challenge from Leeds limited him, resulting in only one squandered sight of goal.

Substitutes: Pedro Neto (6), Malo Gusto (4), Alejandro Garnacho (5), Cole Palmer (5), Marc Guiu (N/A). (387 words)
