Cameroon international striker Vincent Aboubakar has stirred up controversy by sharply criticising Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen’s overall contribution compared to his rivals.
In a recent interview with reporter Ertem Șener, the former Porto and Besiktas star was asked to compare Osimhen, Mauro Icardi, and Tammy Abraham, leading to a strong statement in favour of the Argentine.
Aboubakar delivered a direct assessment of the players, suggesting Osimhen relies solely on goal-scoring ability.
He stated: “Mauro Icardi plays better football than Victor Osimhen. Osimhen only has goals. If you take away that, what else does he have? Put Tammy Abraham in Galatasaray he will Score more goals.”
Aboubakar’s comments strongly favour Icardi’s well-rounded game, while he believes Abraham, who has also recently been linked with a move to Turkey, would be a more prolific scorer than Osimhen in a similar environment, igniting a fierce debate among football fans.
