Mikel Arteta confirms Arsenal is “prepared” for January transfer activity, seeking to “improve” the squad if opportunities arise. This follows significant summer spending on eight new players.
Despite recent injuries stretching his team, Arteta stressed the Gunners’ ongoing vigilance, having keep their five points advantage following the victory over Brentford on Wednesdays.
Speaking ahead of the trip to Aston Villa on Saturday, Mikel Arteta addressed Arsenal’s plans for the January window, saying:
“I mean we always have to be prepared.” Arteta said. “The moment that we have an option to touch the squad, to improve the squad or to protect the squad, depending on what happens, I think we need to be open for it.
“So, we don’t know but we’re certainly going to be alert and we know where the risk can come in terms of the squad and be ready just in case we have to do something.” Arteta said.
