Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta believes Aston Villa are legitimate Premier League title contenders, emphasizing their strong form ahead of Saturday’s clash.
The Arsenal boss highlighted Villa’s consistent performance and position in the league as factors supporting their challenge.
Unai Emery’s side has achieved remarkable results, winning seven of their last eight games, including victories over Manchester City and Brighton.
Their current third-place standing, just six points behind Arsenal, makes them a significant threat and Mikel Arteta acknowledged that.
Asked in his pre-match press conference if he thought Villa were title challengers, Arteta replied: ‘Well, if they continue where they are already, so if they continue what they’ve been doing, I think any club, any team in that position has chances for sure.”
