Weymouth re-hires Ben Ashelford after on-air tirade

Weymouth Football Club has reinstated commentator Ben Ashelford after his dismissal in October for an on-air tirade. He publicly criticised senior club members for leaving a match early and challenged them to a debate, leading to his initial sacking.

The club’s supporters’ association (WFCSA) facilitated Ashelford’s return, now managing match-day commentary. Citing his popularity and prior offers from other clubs, the WFCSA agreed to provide him with a paid position for his services.
