Unai Emery insists Aston Villa not in title race after Arsenal win

Despite Aston Villa’s dramatic 2-1 win over Arsenal, manager Unai Emery emphatically stated that his side is not in the Premier League title race, preferring to maintain a “game by game” focus.

Unai Emery was quick to dismiss claims that Aston Villa are now genuine contenders in the Premier League title race, despite their stunning 2-1 victory over Arsenal.

Emiliano Buendia’s 95th-minute winner secured three points for Villa, who have now won nine of their last league matches. Emery, however, insists Arsenal remain the favourites.

The manager emphasized a “game by game” approach, immediately shifting focus to the club’s next fixture.

“My message is game by game and it is clear in each competition,” Emery stated. He added, “Today we worked, we are happy…

We are going to rest now for two days. We are on Tuesday again coming back and we must rest.”
