Fiorentina manager Paolo Vanoli unleashed a furious post-match rant after his side’s 3-1 collapse against Sassuolo, stating, “We must apologise to our fans.”
Vanoli insisted the team needs more character, claiming, “We need real men at this moment, not just players.”
He cited the penalty incident, where Moise Kean argued over the kick despite not being the designated taker, as an “emblem of our problems.”
Vanoli revealed that Albert Gudmundsson, the primary penalty taker, refused to step up, adding the situation was worse than thought.
He stressed the importance of unity, saying, “It’s not about the system, it’s about each player working for his teammate, and I frankly have not seen that here since I arrived.”
With no Serie A victory yet, Vanoli’s focus is on finding players who can fight for the club.
