Liverpool’s European hopes hang in the balance at Inter amidst Slot’s dilemma

Liverpool expert David Lynch has argued that the struggling Reds, who are facing a risk of Champions League elimination from the top eight, must adopt a defensive “low-event approach” against an in-form Inter Milan side to secure a much-needed positive result.

Liverpool must prioritize a strong defensive display against Inter Milan to secure a positive Champions League result, according to Reds expert David Lynch.

Following a 4-1 loss to PSV and a 3-3 draw with Leeds, Lynch suggested a low-event approach “might make it feel like a classic European away performance rather than just trying to stop the bleeding.”

Lynch added that although the Reds have nine points, their poor run of three wins in their last 14 matches is a concern.

While he believes they are “absolutely fine” for a top-24 finish, he admitted he expects Liverpool to lose at the San Siro due to the Salah fallout, injuries, and Inter’s confident form.
