Fabian Hurzeler open to Evan Ferguson’s Albion return amid Roma loan speculation

Brighton manager Fabian Hürzeler stated that Evan Ferguson’s return from his tough loan spell at Roma is “always an option” following the striker’s recent two-goal performance, though no official talks have begun.

Brighton manager Fabian Hürzeler confirmed that a mid-season return for Evan Ferguson from his loan spell at Roma remains a possibility.

The striker, who has struggled during his time in Serie A, recently scored twice against Celtic, prompting renewed speculation.

Hürzeler told reporters, “Evan is a player from us, so that’s why he will always be an option… We are pleased how he performed yesterday.”

Despite Hürzeler being open to the idea, The Argus understands there has been no direct contact between the two clubs regarding a premature end to the season-long agreement.

Brighton has the option to recall the Irish international, whose loan coincided with the Seagulls’ pre-season camp. Roma boss Gian Piero Gasperini also mentioned that January talks might be necessary to discuss the forward’s future.
