Manchester City defeated Crystal Palace 3-0 with goals from Phil Foden and a brace from Erling Haaland, securing three vital points to keep pace with the leaders in the Premier League title race.
Manchester City delivered a decisive 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, moving within two points of league leaders Arsenal.
Erling Haaland netted a brace and Phil Foden added a fine strike to secure the crucial three points. Pep Guardiola’s side showed their intent to remain firmly in the title race, bouncing back after Arsenal’s narrow win on Saturday.
Despite the final score, Palace posed an early threat, hitting the crossbar through Yéremy Pino in the first half. City struggled initially, but their quality shone through just before the break when Haaland headed home clinically from a Nunes delivery in the 41st minute. Palace responded briefly, forcing two quick saves from Donnarumma.
Foden doubled the lead in the 69th minute with a powerful strike from outside the box before substitute Savinho won a late penalty, which Haaland converted in the 89th minute.
Discussing the title race, City’s coaching staff emphasized focus: “We just focus on what we can do really, not on what Arsenal are doing. Every game is like a final for us.”
