Real Oviedo announced the termination of manager Luis Carrión’s contract following a 4-0 loss to Sevilla and a nine-game winless streak, making him the second coach sacked by the club this season.
Real Oviedo confirmed the immediate dismissal of manager Luis Carrión following the club’s heavy 4-0 La Liga defeat away to Sevilla.
The 46-year-old Spaniard, in his second stint, failed to secure a single victory during his nine games in charge after taking over in October.
The official statement from the club read: “Real Oviedo have taken the decision to terminate Luis Carrión’s contract as coach of the first team.”
Carrión is the second manager sacked by the club this season, having replaced Veljko Paunovic just two months ago, with his coaching staff also relieved of their duties.
The club now searches for a replacement as they sit five points adrift in the relegation zone. Oviedo thanked the departing staff, stating:
“Real Oviedo would like to thank Luis Carrión and his coaching staff for their dedication, professionalism and work during their time at the Club, wishing them all the luck in the world in their professional future.”
